Massimiliano Caldi is principal Conductor of the Polish Baltic "F. Chopin" Philharmonic in Gdańsk and principal conductor of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra in Katowice. Since 2006 until 2010 he has been artistic director of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra. He has been also the first conductor of the Milano Classica Chamber Orchestra since 1998 untill 2009.
Winner of the first prize at the sixth Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Orchestral Conducting, in Katowice in 1999, at present Caldi works in the fields of both symphonic and opera music, principally in Italy and Poland.

In Poland he regularly conducts concerts at the Silesian Philarmonic Concert Hall and with the Silesian Chamber Orchestra he has taken part in some of the most famous Polish festivals, including Lancut, Mikolów, Cracow, and the Upper Silesian Art Festival. In January 2010 Massimiliano Caldi had holded a concert in Warsaw at the Music Hall of the National Philharmonic, on invitation by Antoni Wit, with the Silesian Chamber Orchestra. In the 2009 New Year's Day concert he conducted the Mazowiecki Theatre Orchestra in the Philarmonic Warsaw music hall. Since May 2009 he has worked regularly with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lodz, where, among other things, on May, the 16th 2009 he tooked a concert with his friend the cellist Dominik Polonski on music by Olga Hans. In 2011 for Nino Rota's birthday centenary he was conducted in Warsaw, Lodz, Gdansk and Cracow.

Amongst Polish orchestras, he has also conducted the Polish Radio Symphonic Orchestra of Warsaw, the Katowice Polish Radio National Symphonic Orchestra, the Polska Orkiestra Sinfonia Iuventus and symphonic orchestras in Katowice, Cracow, Szczecin, Gdansk, Rzeszow, Koszalin, Jelenia Gora, Torun. He works, also, in close collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Warsaw and with the Institutes of Italian Culture in Warsaw and Krakow. In Italy he works regularly on the musical programmes at the theatres of Novara, Bologna and Mantua, along with the Valle d'Itria Festival, the Serate Musicali Association of Milan and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In Europe he has performed in the concert halls of Vienna, Linz, St Petersburg, Amsterdam, Baden-Baden, Bonn, Frankfurt, Mannheim and Szeged. He has performed in the concert in Israel, Brasil and Chile.
